CGCL Hosts Japanese Delegation from Koei Research & Consulting

On January 21, 2026, Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited (CGCL) hosted a delegation Inc., Japan, as part of a market strategy survey commissioned by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI).

The delegation comprised Mr. Daiki Takemoto, Consultant, and Ms. Izumi Okata, Executive Officer and Deputy General Manager of the Consulting Division. The visit forms part of a broader initiative to develop a comprehensive strategy for how the Japanese Government and industry can support Caribbean countries by leveraging Japan’s industrial strengths.

During the engagement, the visitors received an overview of CGCL’s operations, including the strategic decision by Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company (MGC) to develop CGCL in Trinidad and Tobago. Discussions also focused on the current energy landscape in Trinidad and Tobago, followed by a guided plant tour.
