About Us
Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited (CGCL) is the first petrochemical facility to be located in the southwestern part of the island and is Trinidad and Tobago’s 8th Methanol Plant. The company is a Joint Venture operation whose shareholders comprise a consortium of Japanese and Trinidadian investors.
The company achieved Commercial Operations status in December 2020 and annual production from the facility is circa 1,000,000 metric tonnes of Methanol per year (MTPY).
Additionally, the facility has the ability to produce 20,000 MTPY of Dimethyl Ether (DME) – an environmentally friendly, colourless gas and alternative fuel to diesel.
CGCL’s product methanol is shipped to various markets across the globe including Asia, North America, and Europe.
