CGCL Annual Back-To-School Volunteerism Event

On August 23, 2024, the Corporate Affairs department supported by volunteers of Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited that included, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Keio Kato and Chief Administrative and Strategy Officer Mr. Gota Shimizu delivered over 100 backpacks to primary and secondary school students within its host and fenceline communities. This initiative is a partnership between the company and the NGO (No Youth Left Behind) for the second consecutive year. The Annual Back-To-School Volunteerism Event was hosted at the La Brea Pitch Lake Facility, and parents and children were on-site to receive the backpacks and share in some light refreshments provided by the company. Our deepest gratitude goes out to the members of our incredible CGCL team who not only assisted with the purchase of bags for the children but personalized them with inspirational notes and further enhanced them with much-needed stationery and other school supplies. Altogether with the organization’s and employees’ contributions, 121 backpacks were distributed to students from the five primary schools within La Brea and its environs as well as students attending the Vessigny Secondary School.
