Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited achieves 1,000,000 metric tonnes (MT) of Methanol ‘loaded’

Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited (CGCL) has achieved another significant milestone in its organization’s development, with the loading of the company’s 1,000,000th (MT) of Product Methanol at the Port of Brighton, Union Industrial Estate, La Brea.  The noteworthy milestone was achieved at 0634 hrs on January 27, January 2022.  

“The achievement of this landmark organizational goal is testimony to the dedication and commitment of our team to deliver ‘World-Class’ business performance, as we seek to carve out a space for ourselves within the petrochemical industry, here in Trinidad and Tobago,” said Pedro Arasa, Chief Executive Officer at CGCL.

Mr. Arasa commended the collaborative efforts, tenacity and innovative thinking of his staff, in securing this important ‘win’ for the company and country, affirming that the team persevered amid significant challenges to deliver upon this target. 

CGCL recently achieved its first 1,000,000 MT of Methanol ‘produced’ a few weeks ago, attained its Lenders Reliability Test (LRT) certificate i.e., 90 calendar days without plant interruption, and completed its 1st Scheduled Turnaround (STA) of 39.4 days without a loss time accident.
When asked about the future trajectory of the company, Mr. Arasa simply replied, “I believe the best is yet to come!”.
