CGCL Launches its Gym and Recreational Facility
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting employee health and well-being, Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited (CGCL) officially launched its Gym and Recreational Facility on Monday 30th September 2024. The Facility, currently housed in a portion of the STA Building has been in the making for several months now. Firstly, conceptualized by one of our very own employees as a wellness initiative to help boost employee morale (utilizing the company’s Employee Feedback Card System), the idea was quickly adopted by our Wellness Committee headed by Nigel Ramlogan (Chair) who co-financed the initiative with Corporate Affairs. Actual installation of equipment, clean-up activities and the completion of all infrastructural works etc. was executed by a cross-functional group of employees from (PSCM, Finance, IT, HSSE, HR, Facilities, Maintenance, Onsite Contractors and Corporate Affairs). This project was a true testament to the power of collaboration.
A Commitment to Employees Well-being
CGCL’s Corporate Affairs Manager Elizabeth Warner Julien, emphasized that the facility is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to fostering a healthy work-life balance for its greatest asset…its employees. “By investing in our employees’ physical and mental well-being, we aim to create a more productive, motivated, and healthy workforce.” The organization also used the opportunity to announce its transformational challenge which kicks off on Monday 7th October 2024 where employees will commence their fitness journey and be evaluated fortnightly by wellness professionals from the GDF Athletic Club. The competition will last a total of circa 90 days and prizes will be awarded to the top-performing male and female employees.
The launch of the Gym and Recreational Facility marks a significant milestone in CGCL’s mission to offer a comprehensive wellness program, that not only enhances employee satisfaction but strengthens the company’s reputation as a forward-thinking, employee-centric organization.
