Materials Handler
As the Materials Handler for this growing, dynamic company, your primary objectives are to provide materials management support to:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as it relates to material control and material handling processes.
- Be a key contributor on the Materials Management Team and optimize materials management functions within the Company.
- Subscribe to process improvement initiatives specific to materials management and inventory.
Principal Accountabilities
- Receive and inspect materials against Supplier’s Delivery Notes (DN) or Invoices and Purchase Orders (PO) to ensure quantity and specifications match, and the item is in a fit-for-use condition.
- Follow the Overage, Short, Damage & Discrepancy (OSD&D) process to ensure inventory irregularities are identified and resolved in the shortest possible timeframe.
- Stock and pick materials from warehouse storage locations according to organizational storage and retrieval standards.
- Accurately issue materials, parts, and consumables to authorized requestors in a timely manner.
- Apply material preservation strategies, thereby ensuring that inventories are maintained and stored in conditions that will prolong their useful life.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as guided by the company’s Stock Counting Procedure.
- Tag material using identification tags or other labelling tools in keeping with the Company’s policy and procedures.
- Assist with the inventory replenishment function so that optimal levels of inventory are maintained, and stockouts are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure that the warehouse, workstations, and laydown yard are kept clean and tidy and maintained in a safe, presentable, and well-ordered manner.
- Ensure proper administration of all warehouse paperwork documentation so that it is processed in a timely manner, properly filed, and easily retrievable upon request.
- Interface with other departments to ensure a reliable and timely flow of material and information.
- Ensure that security protocols are followed so that the inventory is housed securely.
- Respond to emergency call-outs on nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education / Qualification
The candidate must possess:
- A minimum of five (5) O-level passes, including Mathematics & English.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in inventory management and warehousing in the Oil and Gas industry.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with a CMMS, e.g Maximo
- Knowledge of Warehousing storage standards.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
