CGCL SIGNS MOU WITH MINISTRY OF LABOUR

On Wednesday 22nd February 2017, Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited (CGCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development (MOLSED) at the construction site of CGCL’s TMD Plant in La Brea.

The signing of this MOU is result of a long collaboration between CGCL and the Ministry of Labour that began in 2015, when CGCL signaled its intention to partner with an experienced and established organization to assist the Company in realizing its goal of maximizing available labour resources in La Brea, through a fair and transparent process.

The MOU will enable other areas of collaboration and co-operation between the two (2) organizations such as assistance with early detection and resolution of conflict, and the identification of training and development needs for the people of La Brea, among others.

With the establishment of a satellite office in Vessigny Village, in 2015, MOLSED has registered over 2500 persons from La Brea and environs, and has made over 900 referrals to contractors since the official start of construction of the TMD plant in August 2016.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for the CGCL Plant revealed that 430 persons are currently working on the TMD site, of which 40 to 50% are from La Brea.

CGCL’s CEO Hiroshi Kita, signs a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Mr Isaac James, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development (MOLSED) on Wednesday 22nd February 2017, at the construction site of the CGCL Plant in La Brea. This MOU will facilitate the expansion of the range of services currently offered by MOLSED at their satellite office in Vessigny Village, La Brea.
